Senior Media Buyer/Planner
We recruit high-potential candidates to work with some of the best companies, start-ups and agencies in Miami. For this particular role, our client is seeking a senior media planner / buyer to develop, execute, and monitor media plans for advertising clients. Analyzes audiences, programming environments/content and ratings of a wide range of media outlets, while working within specified budget parameters. Selects the media outlets, target audiences, scheduling, and geographic emphasis, which enable clients to achieve their advertising and marketing objectives.
Scope of Work
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with strategic communications team to provide client’s perspective, insights, goals and overall strategies
- Helps to formulate recommendations for long and short term strategies
- Confers with account services teams to understand the media goals, establish objectives and deploy strategies for advertising campaigns
- Prepares and presents media plan recommendations to media supervisor, group media director, account services and/or client for approval and makes changes/adjustments as necessary
- Keeps current on media and consumer trends
- Seeks consumer and media research data and translates effectively into media recommendations
- Oversees all buying activity for assigned accounts to ensure quality and timeliness. Ensures that buyers understand the media plan and its specifications and helps them meet expectations
- Studies and understands demographic data to identify client’s target audience and calculate reach and frequency of each media vehicle
- Executes media plans by negotiating and purchasing advertising in selected vehicles within established budget parameters
- Designs optimum buys in terms of cost efficiency, goals and vendor agreements
- Estimates, updates and adjusts all broadcast ratings by demographic and by quarter
- Negotiates and maintains all agency rates as well as special placement and value added by vehicle and for all markets
- Documents all negotiations, make-goods and credits
- Meets with media representatives and accesses media database to research all available options for media placement
- Responsible for post-buy result of all media buy
- Monitors buying process and negotiates credits and/or billing adjustments as necessary
- Tracks media expenditures to ensure Agency and client budgetary compliance
- Collaborates with team to resolve all billing issues
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Strata
- Working knowledge of Strata, Prime Lingo, Media Monitors, Excel, Power Point
- 5+ years of media planning/Buying experience required
- Strong analytical skills required
