Media Director
We recruit high-potential candidates to work with some of the best companies, start-ups and agencies in Miami. For this particular role, our client is seeking a media director who will lead communications planning, create consumer portraits, map consumer journeys, leverage competitive insights and implications, and – wait, there’s more – refine/optimize media plans based on performance. The MD is also the key liaison between client the media community, providing leadership and strategic direction for media plans. The director also will oversee and is responsible for the day-to-day management of tactical media plans and their proper implementation, working to implement the brand’s overall media strategy in the context of changing marketplace
conditions and opportunities.
Scope of Work
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all strategic channel planning activities associated with account(s) · Lead development of planning objectives and strategies that align with our clients’ marketing directions
- Oversee the optimization of media programs to meet client objectives · Establish and grow a strong relationship with clients through a demonstration of industry knowledge and clients’ basic business issues
- Steward relationships with outside agency partners
- Work with analytic partners to gauge media performance and KPIs to determine the extent to which the original objectives/strategies were met
- Ensure appropriate media tools are being used
- Manage planners/buyers ensuring all team members are delegated work appropriate for their experience level; keep the team challenged and engaged
- Proactively keep abreast of industry trends and share knowledge with the team · Participate in new business pitches
- Day-to-day media client liaison across all media recommendations to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Tight coordination with Account, Strategy and Creative teams to gain a deep understanding of the program architecture, creative platform, offers/incentives, user flow, etc. · Develop and maintain a comprehensive media strategy that defines how media marketing techniques will be applied to increase engagement, visibility and traffic across all client initiatives
- Help lead the development of media management standards, policies and rules of engagement
- Define key performance indicators and implement enterprise level measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to gauge success
Requirements:
- 8+ years in media planning including 3 years at Associate Media Director level or higher
- Experience leading media strategy development
- Experience planning and buying all forms of media – traditional and digital · Deep understanding of media trends
- Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and detail-oriented
- Proven track record of excellent job performance
- In-depth knowledge of local, regional and national planning and buying · Ability to articulate and champion ideas throughout the organization and with clients
- Recognized as an expert in their field, and is called upon for advice and insights · Shows convincing understanding of client business issues
- Has the ability to objectively and systematically assess and analyze issues, developing effective solutions
- Able to command an audience and bring strategy to life
- Is well-versed in the various media research techniques and methods
