Manager SEO & Promo Merchandising

For this particular role, our client is seeking a manager to develop and implement best in class organic search channel leading SEO strategy and online promotion marketing according to the eCommerce business plans. Drive organic content strategy and promotional merchandising content from marketing channels to grow sales. Responsible for multiple web versions and languages.
Scope of Work

Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy and roadmap inclusive of technical initiatives and content analysis and optimization which drives organic channel growth and SERP results ranking for keywords.
- Execute technical SEO site audits and resolve technical SEO issues which improve overall site health and performance. Propose data-driven optimizations based on feasibility and ROI.
- Collaborate with internal partners to fix or implement technical and content recommendation improvements to the website.
- Perform ongoing SERP analyses and audit/optimize page meta and content for critical search terms in multiple languages/countries.
- Perform ongoing and ad-hoc diagnostic crawls on sites to monitor key metrics and overall site health and performance including areas such as page speed, code errors, duplicate content, missing metadata, schema errors, etc.
- Maintain and optimize site map and, robots file. Advise and audit site architecture including translated sites, redirects, and canonicalization. Diagnose crawling and indexing issues and deliver analyses of such.
- Establish a system for documenting and maintaining website redirects, canonical tags, and other technical or related issues that may prevent optimal performance.
- Partner with the content team to create or optimize landing pages based upon need or whitespace opportunity. Collaborate with the content team to transform keyword research into a long-term content production roadmap and strategy.
- Increase the visibility and knowledge of SEO across teams and share SEO best practices helping to define SEO as a KPI for all teams including blog, YouTube, Pinterest, social, etc.
- Work with our Digital Analytics team to develop, maintain and analyze SEO, organic traffic, and content performance reporting.
- Coordinate the ongoing addition of landing pages and images that go with promotions to target our brand and product by delivering best content to drive increased search relevancy and increased conversion/booking and sales. Coordinate promotional focus and messaging with the business and other marketing departments.
- Work with Revenue Management, Email and DM Marketing, Onboard Revenue, Partnership Team, and the Brand team to execute on site merchandising concepts and landing pages.
- Manage a web merchandising specialist to execute the vision of promotional marketing.
- Choose images and give guidance on what needs to be done on the photo/images. Edit HTML for landing pages. Give suggestions and recommendations to improve the visibility of the website or web page in search engines and search results.
- Compile and analyze web metrics associated with the promotional and product merchandising to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of promotions and campaigns and modify future tactics as necessary. Work with the web analytics team for other metric tracking and results and react accordingly. Target content to browsers and users.
- Ensure web content is accurate, up to date, clear and consistent throughout the website. Create promotions snapshots and communications.
- Maintain a master calendar of all planned and actual promotions for the use of the e-Commerce team that shows the promotional support which impacts the site visits, bookings, and lead generation of the website.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, eCommerce, Web Design, Merchandising, or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in SEO-focused role in e-commerce environment. 2-3 years working with content management systems and online promotional content.
- Travel/hospitality industry or travel agency experience preferred.
Robust knowledge across TV / Video and Audio landscapes. - Experience in website promotion, and at least 1-2 years in e-Commerce marketing and website design
- Knowledge of the tourism field/travel/cruise industry. Sound knowledge of marketing fundamentals and solid decision-making skills to evaluate and decide on-site content placement and product merchandising opportunities.
- Experience with content management systems, A/B Testing, and Web Analytics. Deep understanding of web design principles and usability best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to write clear and concise web content. Interpersonal and business skills to interact with all levels of team members effectively.
- Highly detail oriented with organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to shift priorities according to business needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to persuade and convince others.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments under great pressure and with little margin of error.
