Director of Digital Marketing

As the Director of Digital Marketing, you will exercise your skills and talent in collaboration with our exceptional team. The go-to-market plan must incorporate strategy, planning, budgeting, vendors, and metrics that encompass the entire digital marketing playbook, SEO, paid social, SEM, affiliate, remarketing display, etc. You will also manage our email strategy and execution. They are growing quickly and need someone who is comfortable in that environment and can simultaneously lead a team. There is a great deal of opportunity for creativity and thought leadership as we form the future of digital marketing and ecommerce.

Scope of Work


Responsibilities: 
  • Develops digital marketing strategies that put Amazon at the center of the target.
  • Develops and oversees the digital marketing program (integrating Amazon + brand websites), including email, affiliate, paid search, paid social, and digital re-targeting programs.
  • Builds plans, manages vendor relationships, implements campaigns, and measures performance.
  • Innovates and iterates through a test calendar that helps develop new strategies and tactics to drive performance.
  • Works closely with the content team to prepare creative briefs for all digital product marketing needs. Provides feedback and signs off on creative based on industry best practices.
  • Creates, maintains and evolves a departmental calendar that matches business objectives with the activities and output of the department.
  • Develops benchmark criteria to measure the efficacy of digital marketing programs, including SEO/SEM guidelines, goals and metrics, campaign performance, and social engagement.
  • Develops and maintains KPI dashboards and/or regular reports to keep teams informed on the return of ad spend, overall marketing performance and to help inform the balance of spend per channel and success metrics.
  • Drives development of the annual digital marketing budget; inclusive of agency support, production, media, paid search, and other expenditures to comply with organizational financial objectives.
  • Establishes and coordinates reporting on all efforts.  

Requirements: 
  • Advanced experience with Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube campaigns (Amazon marketing experience is a plus)
  • 7+ years of digital marketing experience, time with a digital marketing agency is appreciated
  • Management experience leading small teams executing marketing campaign against online performance-based media objectives
  • Experience working with email, social, digital advertising in related industry
  • Experience in marketing leadership
  • Experience in using website analytics software (Google Analytics, Omniture)
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling and A/B testing methodologies is a plus
  • BA marketing and communications or relevant field preferred
  • Solid understanding of the brand universe as well as digital marketing, direct marketing, and social media practices
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Results-driven, goal-oriented, and bureaucracy averse
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with changing priorities, evolving responsibilities, and scope of work in a rapidly growing company
