Lead, Content Manager

For this particular role, our client is seeking a lead site content manager to oversee the development and publishing, from concept to final copy/image production & QA for all websites to ensure high relevancy, integrity, and excellence. 


Scope of Work


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble and direct cross-functional support teams with a clear and well-defined focus on implementing customer-driven functionality and content. Incorporate customer feedback and usability research in site development.
  • Manage the content strategy, workflow process, and execution of content initiatives including a team of contractors or direct reports who update the content in CMS. 
  • Own and manage content update workflow and prioritization in Jira alongside the team project manager. 
  • Develop and maintain a schedule of content activity to ensure site accuracy, appropriateness, and relevancy.
  • Incorporate SEO-rich content throughout the site.
  • Proactively seek internal feedback and encourage business owners to provide ongoing content support and product updates.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent creative identity for websites that can be used as a model for all ongoing content development.
  • Research and review competitive and cutting-edge websites for insight into the latest trends, creative techniques, and functionality and make recommendations based on research.
  • Interact and collaborate with staff on-site content development projects, as well as internal and external clients and their creative agencies; Proofreads and edits content received from internal and external providers.
  • Work with departments and content stakeholders and staff to ensure all involved are trained on relevant standards, processes, and procedures to ensure quality, timeliness and consistency. Identify and correct inconsistencies relative to content, placement, and messaging.
  • Conduct ongoing site audits including but not limited to booking excursions and other onboard revenue functions. 
  • Document, report and/or resolve any issues/inconsistencies.
  • Research, plan, solicit and write content for brand websites, clearing rights as necessary.
  • Prepare images to be posted to the websites.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience and skills.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of web content management/development experience; Experience with travel content is highly desirable.
  • Must be familiar with AP style, and understand the constraints of web writing and style. Working knowledge of the Internet and online services is required. 
  • Must have a strong sense of site layout and design. 
  • Experience with HTML and web publishing/content management process, systems, and related tools. Must be proficient with HTML editors, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator (latest versions). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects. Drupal CMS experience desired.
  • Experience editing and building pages using HTML5, short code and responsive layouts required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Photoshop. 
  • Preferred familiarity with website design, production/traffic management, and/or e-commerce platforms. 
  • Ability to maintain high level of proficiency and understanding of company efforts, programs and policies at all times. 
  • Ability to autonomously operate in multiple CMS systems to edit, approve and publish content on corporate website daily. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make independent decisions about workload management to support unpredictable and dynamic projects with very short lead time and quick turnarounds, on time and within budget.
  •  Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
