Communications Manager

For this particular role, our client is seeking a communications manager to work as a part of the agency innovation team in the areas of team management, public relations, content creation, media outreach, social media & influencer outreach, and campaign management.

Scope of Work


The Communications Manager will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholder groups through online and offline channels. The manager will lead the writing of documents to support broader publicity, community engagement, and resource development. This individual will also be responsible for designing and implementing a plan and set of tactics to engage multiple stakeholder groups and will be responsible for building and sustaining external relationships with the press and influencers. 
  
Public Relations 
  • Create and activate against a multi-pronged communications strategy via messaging development, media relations, thought leadership, original content, partnerships and events.
  • Own and drive a communications plan to maintain and strengthen community engagement and relationships.
  • Establish strong relationships and communicate regularly with stakeholder groups.
  • Execute effective earned media campaigns. 
  • Discover and create new opportunities to extend brand awareness and executive visibility through speaking, original content and relationship building.
  • Build relationships with social influencers and brand advocates via strategic program development and implementation.
  • Manages media relations by identifying and working with target media and demonstrating a network of traditional and online media contacts and influencers.

Social Media 
  • Support identification of social influencers and reach out to these individuals in an effort to strengthen relationships.
  • Demonstrates understanding of how to use and apply basic social media tools to client objectives, including blogs, Twitter, RSS feeds, microblogging, social networks, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy that defines how social media marketing techniques will be applied to increase visibility and traffic across WOW Factor projects.
  • Assist with daily moderation and responding to social media users for all assigned clients.

Content Creation
  • Create compelling narrative around each Client leveraging qualitative, quantitative, data and testimonials to elevate and promote the story.
  • Write press materials and internal communications. 
  • Edit and proofread written materials for quality and adherence to appropriate writing style. 
 
Overall Management
  • Partake in Innovation Team’s Leadership Team initiatives and expansion plans (i.e. conduct recruitment efforts/interviews, etc.)
  • Serve as an escalation point for Innovation Team Members.
  • Guide team activities and be a support to other team members for idea generation, editing content, story angle development, reactive opportunities, and more.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in an advertising/communications/PR environment.
  • Creative storyteller with the ability to distill concepts into compelling stories and develop a range of platforms to tell them.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willing to bring big ideas to the team.
  • Ability to adapt various communications to many different audiences.
  • Ability to establish priorities and successfully multitask.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Spanish/English preferred.
  • Experience with: Cision, Sprout, Grow or other communications/social media tools.
