Chief HR Officer

We recruit high-potential candidates to work with some of the best companies, start-ups and agencies in Miami. For this particular role, our client is seeking a human resources director to focus on all human resources operations including developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects.

As the HR Director you are expected to have deep knowledge of culture and change management including, consulting management, compensation & benefits, training & development, organization development, budget, and labor relations. Most importantly you will be counted on to take a leadership role in developing a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the company's values and objectives. 


Scope of Work


Location: Miami, Florida (On-site) 
Salary: $175K + Bonus

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the implementation of all human resources programs. Identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves any discrepancies.
  • Selects and supervises any human resource staff and/or vendors, and determines the effectiveness of changing vendors or bringing functions "in-house"
  • Conducts a continuing study of all policies, programs, and practices to inform management.
  • Establishes departmental measurements that support the company's strategic goals.
  • Participates in executive, management, and company staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as directed.
  • Manages the development and maintenance of the Human Resources sections of both the internet, particularly recruiting, culture, and company information; and intranet sites when developed.
  • Assists managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants, and/or the development of internal employee training programs.
  • Establishes and leads and participates in the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Reviews, guides, and approves management recommendations for employment terminations.
  • Leads competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff. 
  •  Monitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment.
  • Develops a company-wide formal performance review policy.
  • Recommends changes in benefits offered, aimed at employee satisfaction and retention, while at the same time monitoring for options and cost savings.
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations’ compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Human Resources staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Above-average oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
Duties Specifically Related to Organization Development:
  • Designs and directs and manages a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
  • Manages employee communication and feedback through company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.
  • Identifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
  • Leads a process of organization development that plans, communicates, and integrates the results of strategic planning throughout the organization.
